Privacy Policy

Note: This is a courtesy English translation. The German version at /datenschutz/ is the legally binding one. This is a general template based on the GDPR, not legal advice, and must be reviewed by a lawyer / data protection officer and adapted to the actual hosting, booking system (incl. Smoobu), and any analytics tools used.

2. Hosting

This website is hosted by Vercel Inc. When you visit the website, technical access data (e.g. IP address, date and time of access, page requested) is automatically processed in server log files to ensure stable operation of the site (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

3. Contact and Booking Inquiries

If you contact us via the contact or booking form, your details (name, email address, phone number, travel dates, message) are processed to handle your inquiry and for potential follow-up questions (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). Submission is technically handled via the form provider Formspree acting as processor.

4. Booking Management

We use the property management system Smoobu, as well as Airbnb and Booking.com where applicable, to manage bookings, availability, and guest communication. As part of a booking, the necessary data (e.g. name, contact details, travel dates) is shared with these providers where required to fulfil the contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).

5. Map Material (Google Maps, OpenStreetMap/CARTO)

Some pages embed map material from Google Maps. The map is only loaded after your active confirmation (clicking "Load Map"); only then is data transmitted to Google LLC and cookies potentially set (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). See Google's privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy.

On the "Locations" page, we additionally use an interactive map based on OpenStreetMap map data (displayed via the map provider CARTO). This map is also only loaded after clicking "Load Map"; map tiles are then fetched directly from OpenStreetMap/CARTO servers, which involves sharing your IP address with these providers (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). 6. Fonts (Google Fonts)

This website uses the "Inter" and "Plus Jakarta Sans" fonts, loaded via Google Fonts. Visiting the page establishes a connection to Google's servers. [TODO: consider self-hosting the fonts instead of using the Google Fonts CDN to avoid any data transfer to Google.]

7. Your Rights

You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing, data portability, and object regarding your personal data, as well as the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority.

8. Retention Period

Personal data from inquiries and bookings is stored only as long as necessary to fulfil the respective purpose or to comply with statutory retention obligations (in particular under commercial and tax law).
